Isshin's specialty is the infamous Japanese Ōmi beef, offered on their set menu as a nose-to-tail experience. 
It is operated by Chef Hideichi Katagiri and his wife from the Shiga prefecture where Omi beef is from.  The restaurant is famous amongst locals for their dishes utilizing the rarest cut of the inner shoulder blade, the misuji, which only yields about 2kg from an entire cow.
Reservation is required.

This is a fantastic choice if you want to experience traditional Japanese Kaiseki. It has a mix of both seafood and meats in their set menu.  
The food and presentation is on par with Kyoto's exquisite standards.

This is Japanese Seafood Kaiseki at its very best.  The restaurant decor is minimal and humble as its culinary creations take the spotlight.
